The Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association awarded Comp Awardthe City of Prattville the Outstanding Planning Award for a Comprehensive Plan for Project Prattville 2040. Scott Stephens, Director of Planning, accepted the award during the Mississippi-Alabama Joint Conference on October 14, 2021, in Biloxi, MS.

The Outstanding Planning Award for a Comprehensive Plan for Communities with a Population under 50,000 recognizes an outstanding comprehensive plan addressing the long-range development of an area, city, county, or region.

The City of Prattville Planning Commission adopted the new comprehensive plan, Project Prattville 2040, on April 15, 2021, and the City Council unanimously adopted it on July 6, 2021, after over a year of preparation.

This process would not have been successful without the input from the citizens, business leaders, and consultants, allowing us to plan for the future growth of our community.
