Project Prattville: The Next Chapter is a twelve month process initiated by the City of Prattville to completely update the city’s comprehensive development plan. The City’s current plan has guided development decisions by the City Council and Prattville Planning Commission since 1998. Prattville has seen remarkable growth and change over that decade. Prattville’s population has increased from approximately 20,500 in 1996 to an estimated 33,500 in 2008. The current plan is being updated to reflect recent and future changes in residential and commercial development.
Given current growth rates, Prattville’s population is expected to double over the next twenty years. Project Prattville, and the resulting documents, will provide the policy framework for protecting Prattville’s quality of life, promoting a strong economy, creating strong and sustainable neighborhoods, and improving transportation facilities and options.
Project Prattville: The Next Chapter is being built on input received from the public. Over a twelve month period, Prattville citizens have been asked to participate in four public workshops. If you would like to be added to the mail or e-mail lists to receive project updates or notices of future public meetings, please register here.
